What gets you stoked? I like to ride different types of boards including long boards and SUP boards if it is small or flat, so that I can get use to all types of boards and weather. I love to travel with my family and knowing how to ride all types of boards makes traveling easier and fun. Best of all I like to surf with my friends and practice being in surf heats together.
Who is in your Tribe? My family (@the_sandvigs) and all of the kids that I compete with @surfwsa on the weekends.
Three words that describe you? Silly, hard worker, positive!
What do you do when you are not surfing all day? I watch surf videos, skateboard and snowboard.
What is a Grom? A kid that surfs or works hard at a sport that takes a lot of time and effort, but most of all they are having more fun than anyone else.
What moves are you working on this week? I am trying airs and I want to get barreled.
What is the best part about growing up in San Clemente? I get to ride my electric bike to Lowers!
How has the community given you inspiration? San Clemente is a really cool community because it is home to famous surf breaks. @surfwsa is a super fun surf league that teaches us how to compete and everyone cheers all of the kids on. San Clemente has a lot of events that include kids, full beach days and good times.
What is your favorite thing about the ocean? It is always changing so you learn to read the wave report to ride the right boards. The waves are different every day and that is what makes it so great.
Early morning offshore or Afternoon glass off? School starts at 7:45 am and my mom is a teacher so we do not get to do early mornings. I like the afternoons because it glasses off and you can watch the sunset. Many people get out of the water for dinner and gives me a chance to catch a few more waves before dark.
Dream Trip? I want to go to Chicama in Peru with my family because it is the longest left in the world and I am goofy foot. Any trip with waves is a dream trip.
Inspirations in or out of the water?
- Griffen Colapinto
- Kelly Slater
- Gabriel Medina
Where do you see yourself in 2020? Watching surfing in the Olympics, traveling with my family, and doing airs.
Wave Pools or the Ocean? Ocean because it teaches you to read the conditions and it is always different. My dream is to have a chance to surf at Kelly Slater’s wave pool, but it seems super hard, it is invite only, so I will play in the Ocean for now.
Who is your favorite Gudauskas brother? I like them all because they work together and they don’t fight. My parents named me after Tanner. They liked the name and it matched with San Clemente.
How do you keep the Vibe Alive? Stay positive and have fun on anything in the ocean. Work hard so that I can travel and surf all different types of surf breaks.
What is your first memory of the ocean? Surfing Teahupo’o and Temea this last summer with my dad.
